Duh... [Mar. 10th, 2005|07:42 pm]
So I took this quiz..."Which Asian country are you from?":

VIETNAM
You are from Vietnam. This country has some
fun-looking festivals, including the Moon
Festival, in which there are parades for
children. Moon cakes (sounds good) are also
eaten, and kids are given lots of presents!

Buenas noches, mundo :) [Mar. 10th, 2005|12:22 am]
[mood | sleepy]
[music |Utada Hikaru "You Are Always Gonna Be the One"]

It's late and I'm tired. But I had a great supper with Bobby tonight...we went to Applebee's, and I hadn't been there in ages. We just talked about a lot of stuff, and he's going to make my family and me a Mexican dish, ceviche, on Friday. It's amazing how well he really fits in as one of the family. I'm going during Easter break to Houston to meet his family. Mom's even making wedding jokes and she NEVER does that...Sometimes I'm scared of how serious this is getting, but on the other hand, I couldn't think of anyone better with whom I could be "serious" :) Oh well, first things first. I have a Spanish Grammar test tomorrow, so I'd better get to bed so all of this info can sink in. Buenas noches, mundo...

By the way, take a look at this picture...It came from RateMyKitten.com. It reminds me of my little kitten Trevor. Ain't he a cutie?

First journal entry [Mar. 9th, 2005|05:45 pm]
[mood | restless]

Hello, World! This is my first journal entry for this journal...yet not my first Live Journal entry. If you get a chance, check the link at the bottom for my Vietnam Live Journal from my summer trip to Vietnam.

Today was really nice...got quite a bit accomplished, I guess. Last night had a very good discussion with my boyfriend...He'd had a really rough day at work and at tkd, but I think just talking about it made him feel better. Today, I went to breakfast with my roommate, finished my paper for my IS seminar, ran some little errands, went to church at lunch, and edited my friend Akiko's assignment. Then went to my IS seminar and talked about this week's book, Princess...the story of a Saudi Arabian princess. The situation of the story itself was very telling, as the Princess ("Sultana") did not write the story herself; she dictated it to her American author friend. All the names were changed to protect...well...the innocent, as "Sultana" could have been brutally punished had her story been revealed to the Royal family. Quite saddening that such an oppressive society toward women still exists.

In all, it has been a very busy, but productive day. Well, I'm off to study for my Spanish Grammar Review exam tomorrow...I'll let you all know how it goes :) Out to eat with Bobby tonight!

Amelia
